hey Patty. I think I remember that scene lol. I would be star struck too. It's cool to be in the right place at the right time. What a great entry into this contest. Good luck. xoxo Kiwi

Embarrassing at the moment, I guess! But what a great memory. Gather the hubby has heard since you're writing about it... :))
Hey, gotta agree, marriage doesn't make one blind.
Love the way you led into the clincher at the end. It kept me hanging in there, wondering if you'd just happen on your hubby, newly returned, early. What a nice moment that would have been, but the real ending was fun and made me laugh.

Well, lucky you! You acted on impulse and gained a memory you'll never forget. Tom's bound to remember some fans who were special. Why not you?
Well told story.

I can see why this memory was so special. Being a young mother and on a naval base must have been exciting at times. Loved the way you wanted to stay connected to your husband by walking the docks. Out of sixes.

Take care and stay safe,

Ray

Well, you wanton woman, you -- ha - I admire your nerve - I was always too shy where there were men - OK with just one, but not several around.

I was only twenty-six[,](;) my husband was out at sea, and had been for about four months. - semi-colon needed to join the two sentences.

The office at work was all abuzz with the news filming for one of Tom Cruise's movies [was] taking place on the base. - I've read this through 3 times, and feel you need to lose the "was" after movies - what do you think?

A great little story for the contest - good luck, Patty.

What an encounter. Not many can say they were out for a walk and bump into Tom Cruise.

The story is well told. Easy to see the Naval men walking with pride.

I was not expecting the ending, of you turning and running, so this was pretty funny. Do you ever wish you stood for a couple extra seconds to see what he would have said? I am sure he remembers the crazy girl who ran up to him, kissed his hand and then ran away. I just laughed when I read that.

What a wonderful story Patty, it must be amazing when you sit down and watch one of his many movies and think......I have actually met this guy.......what a story to pass down to your grandchildren.

What a fun story Patty. You told it well. I like the way you built up the suspense. I like the way you described the men in uniform--then you saw Tom. What a true story that will be yours forever. Good job & best wishes in the contest. Jan

What?? You actually met Tom Cruise?? Is this really true?? If so then Wow! Is he really a short guy in real life? Oh well. Lucky you and this was nicely written. Good luck in the contest!

Hi there; totally true, and Yes, he is short. I think he is only about 5 foot, 8 or 9. (I'm only five foot, one, so I probably made him feel very tall!)

I will always treasure this memory,
