Wow! I'm always at a loss of words to say how great your poetry is, and I know you get tired of the same old remarks.
But this is fantastic. Even the shape.
I'm familiar with Portuguese man-of-wars. My ex-husband was a Navy diver and ran into them a lot. Was never stung by one but by a lot of jellyfish. Horrible things.

You've done an amazing job here with your luscious mouthfull of of lulling words that startle and surprise in the end. Not to mention you did it all in a single sentence. I guess you felt you needed a glossary, but I always hate to see writers explain what they have just said. That's supposed to be the job of the poem, making you delve deeper than ordinary life. Almost talking down to your audience. Nonetheless.....

Hi Tony, this is a great poem and it was so vivid to me as I've actually seen them. And loads of them. In places the sand along the ocean was littered with them. Also if we wanted to go swimming we had to do so within the areas with protected nets. But of course you'll know all about it. I loved the fantastic imagery used in your fee verse poem. All the best. A very well-written poem. Sea creatures are not there to play without gloves on they are dangerous and can end our lives in a split second without even have to think about it.

An uncommon approach to this sophisticated personification of this worded winded phraseology. One must reach inside the corners on imagination, take out a myriad paintbrush found near a shoreline and look up at the stars and say" my oh my" where is my genie?
