I agree, Dan. Just as the Confederate flag is a part of America's history so too are the monuments the "powers that be" are pushing to have taken down.
They may be a bleak reminder of a dark time in our nation, that's true. But a nation that forgets the mistakes of its past is doomed to repeat them.

This poem, unlike the last, speaks more of the stone monuments rather than the inhuman monuments of the criminal mind. Though not all Stine monuments bring fearful memories, they di remind us of a war torn country fighting for its freedom. I do agree, we need to show our progression. Build new monuments proclaiming the freedoms we have accomplished.
Saw one spelling error. (tp rather than to) In the third stanza. Thanks for sharing your thoughts and ideas in these poems

Same message as the free verse of yours I read about 20 minutes ago. The left is not interested in history - it betrays them. Sooner or later, there will have to be a reckoning in America and hopefully, liberalism will be put to rest forever.

To me one answer would be for this nation get back to teaching truthful history. For the last 60 years there has been an effort to destroy history and now to take down the monument of history goes on step further in that direction. History forgotten is history repeated. Patricia

A very well-written poem. The only answer is to start praying that God will have mercy on our souls and ask for His protection over the world leaders He has chosen to defeat the evil influences of Satan around the world.
NS Satan really tried very hard to stop this review, I had to redo it three times.

Thanks for your comments. I have forgotten many here are not from the USA. The events of the past week give the contents when violence took place over the removal of Confederate statues.
