You have the right perception on this Dan. And I tend to agree with you. It's too bad the ones supposed to be leading the nation are not of the same mind. Unfortunately, politics plays a major role coming from the same administration that denounced politicians. I hope it gets straightened out by citizens because I don't think you can count on leaders who taunt and antagonize.

I like this poem in answer to the white supremacist protests. I agree about leaving old and building new. Or many building a Civil War Museum and show both sides and show the history.

When I lived in Pensacola, Florida, there was a statue of a Confederate soldier as you entered the city. Some time ago it was removed. In one day, years of sacrifice were discarded.

yes, I wrote a long piece on history vs political correctness for FS.
You are right.
good suggestions. Put hate behind and build new monuments - do positive things.
Positive thinking for all. wouldn't that be a change.
It would be nice if the media would follow suit.

An excellent poem and idea.
I think the problem is when people confuse history with ideology.
It is interesting that for over a hundred and fifty years
there was no problem with these historical figures.
Now, because of political bias on both sides
everything is called into question.
Construct, but it seems many just want to tear down

Should have been solved
Before the Bill of Rights
Was authored.

The Declaration of Independent should have allowed for less signatures. History has shown that Slavery was doomed to failure. Agriculture could not win against manufacturing.
