Hi Sandra;

You know, I keep hearing from a lot of poets that they do not write in meter. Maybe I'm being too hard on myself?

I did get some excellent advice from Debbie (debjohns?) She went through the piece line by line and gave me the correct words and syllable accents. I'm still lost - but I will do an edit to include her suggestions.

I write as it comes, it always comes out in some sort of meter, but I have to wait for another poet to tell me what it is! LOL.

I don't like when I see pet owners who make the dogs stay on the sidewalk when they walk them. I know how hot that concrete is.

I totally agree with you, but the neighborhood where I live frowns on you letting your dogs walk on someone's grass. So, I curb and clean.

Although I can't help you with the iambic meter here, Patty,
I did think this was indeed so sweet. I kept thinking of Bernie
and Howie, in that walk, their paws still hot from the pavement,
too jaded to care about barking at that bird in the tree.

Hi Patty. Well I enjoyed reading your fun Octogram. Cute image. Rhyming and form seem super to me. It doesn't take too much to make dogs happy. They are easier pets than kitties, which can be such brats. On the other hand, I'm blessed with my Jewel.
