I am not good at iambic meter! I can't help! Enjoyable poem, picture is so cute. I really cannot make any suggestions for improvement, so good job! Summer days are hot for doggies -.we had 105 % this year.

Sounds like you and the dogs had a good day. I should try taking a cat for a walk. It would be sweet if they'd co-operate. I know less about iambic meter than you do; afraid I'm not much help there, but I enjoyed the poem.

Hi Patty
I loved this happy poem and the image of your babies trotting along happily with you.

I am not a fan of 'created' poetry and I have a feeling that your original work would have flowed more easily with less of the apostrophes which seem to be used to adhere to the syllable count

Hey there, this sure is a sweet poem, LOL. Very cute octogram poem, and I'm sorry that I don't know enough to give advice, but I do like it very much. Adorable artwork!

Just checking a couple things -

the pastel lines of children's chalks,
we see a treat, - just checking if you wanted this punctuation and lack of capitalization

(at - At?) home, the sweet cool water waits,

Just checking because I'm useless with punctuation in poetry. ;-)

Since I'm not a poet I will be of no help at all. But, I can assure you I enjoyed reading the poem. I especially enjoyed the subject matter. Until I started back to work, I took my little Harley for an early morning walk. He and I loved it.
