Saddening, to think about animals being treated this way. Even "dangerous" animals are just looking to live, and attempt to do so as peacefully as possible.

Thank you for sharing your work per usual. This is an important piece in bringing to light something that isn't talked about much in this politically driven climate we find ourselves in. Keep fighting the good fight Patty - Cheers!

A great interpretation of the picture.sevelette sounds interesting. By the way what was the style of poetry that has a girl's name, 3-4,3-4 3-4, 5 syllable count
Enjoyed your poem this pic this challenge
Hugs! Trisha

Hi Patty, I'm a bit late on my picture challenge poem reviewing - sorry - and I have only just managed to post my interpretation yesterday. Having said that, I really enjoyed your take on the challenge. You have touched on a very important issue with pouching of wild life and the unnecessary and unsavoury trophy killing that some people do for whatever reason which is beyond my comprehension. A very reflective read and one that works well for the picture challenge. My piece is a short nonet but I hope you enjoy it non the less. Kind regards ~DD

Hi Patty. I do like this Sevelette form created by Kerry. Nicely composed for this post of Picture This. Poachers take chances to kill these beautiful creatures for profit. It's against the law, but it seems not many are caught and prosecuted. Animals are at the mercy of humans and there doesn't seem to be much of that. Marilyn

i'm not into big game hunting for sport, definitely not into poachers putting animals on the endangered species list. But I don't mind hunting when you are putting food on the table for your family : ) You did a great job of showcasing Kerry's little creations friend, well done!

    Hi there;
    thank you for the wonderful review. I agree with hunting for 'food,' but I can't understand 'sport' hunting.

Good morning Patty,

You did very well with this Sevelette form of poetry. Thank you for the lesson. I agree with your poem. It's a shame that there are hunters (humans) who still hunt for these animals as mere sport such as the term "poachers." It is a sad reality and I like the end question. It makes me wonder, 'when they run out of animals to hunt would humans be next? This poem gave me something to ponder.

    Hi Tier; thank you so much for your thoughtful and positive review of this poem.

    It was fun to try Kerry's new poetic form, and be given the opportunity to make a statement about the extinction of animals in our world,

Good morning, Patty

The rhyme was spot on and unfortunately were the images. Sadly the message from the poem is all too true. According to several sources we are currently in another period of mass extinction. They say by 2030, lions, elephants and giraffes will be found only in zoos.

Take care and stay safe,

Ray

    Hi Ray;
    thank you for your thoughtful and concise review. I hadn't read the reports sighting 2030 as the time line, but I'm not surprised.

    This was a fun poetic form to work with, and I am glad I was able to make a statement about animal rights,

There's much logic behind your conclusions. The poachers should be dealt with before they're able to procreate.
Animals can be so pretty. You can't blame them if they're moved to kill us.
Brilliant thoughts and deductions.
Well written.

This is a very well written Sevelette style of poetry you used for the picture this contest. It is so very sad what you have written about. Elephants don't bother anybody. Why hurt them? Great write. Best wishes in the contest. Teri
