The poet expresses vivid and painful emotions throughout this writing, and it presents stark imagery to ponder.

Hope this episode of life has been left far behind...

Regards,

pf: it was left far behind about a month ago. I'm over the pain but covered in sadness. However, I can laugh out loud once again. Thanks for reading and commenting. Linda

Reading this poem reminds me of someone escaping from a domestic abuse situation. Even though I know there's no mention of that in this piece. Still emotional abuse can be almost as bad.

The emotional abuse became horrific and I left out of fear. I'm safe now. Thanks for reading and commenting. Linda

Hi Linda,

I feel like I walked in on the middle of a movie on this one. There's no back story and few details, then poof, it ends. I suppose that the fans who have followed you are probably more equipped to review this free verse than I am, alluding to the scant detail in your author's notes.

I hope things are looking up now!

Kim: thank you for reading. All the details are not necessary. False Love says it all. Lies, lies and more lies. It's been over for about a month and I feel great now. livelylinda

Some times in a situation like that all one can do is cut their loses and move on as rapidly as they possibly can.

Living with a sociopath is not pleasurable as this well written poem depicts.

Brett: I lasted for nine months until I felt fear and then I was out of there very quickly. Thanks for reading. livelyinda

There is a gritty bitterness about this - your notes suggest it is based on real life and this is backed up by the precise details of the break-up - the missing scales and air-con...

I like the compact form of the piece. The rhyme is irregular but feels right. Perhaps the most telling line is:
nobody won...

Knowing when it's over and out can be very liberating. It normally scares the sh#t out of the con artist who has been masquerading as a caring lover/friend. I liked this one... very nice!!

.Hitcher: it doesn't scare the sociopath for long. They just continue doing what they do and con another person. Thanks for reading. Linda

Oh, yes! I can hear you "ROAR," Linda. Your message is "crystal clear!" A most commendable "Romance Poetry" entry. The Artwork by Liilia "Ugly Door," is awesome, and I shall not open, and enter into the gloomy room inside. This
entry is most deserving of a "Six Star Review," and yet, I'm out at the time. Keep
writing, my dear friend, "For you do it extremely well!"
Best wishes,
Bill (junglefighter)

Dramatic artwork of this darkened, battered door, much like the person in this poem where 'nobody won'. An emotional journey described here, but finishes on a positive note -
hear me roar!
as I walk out that dirty door
I'm not sure what the author's notes mean but if this is biographical I wish you well with the next door you open.
cheers.
