My take is the "attempt to put reason into faith" because faith is spiritual and somewhat mysterious. Current worldly events divide Faith when it should be unified. Love and hate are
antonyms under the same faith 'umbrella' . I loved your intellectual poem. Good luck with this great entry in the contest.

Thanks, Trisha. You have hit on the root cause of many of our problems in this world - the divisive nature of Faith with a capital letter - a tragedy when one considers that the core ethics of all the world's major religions are so similar.

An interesting comment. Simple faith, with a small 'f' is, perhaps, the solution. Sadly man's varying interpretations of Faith with a capital 'F' is a major part of the problem. Would that we were not so divided by our certainties.

I wish I had thought of X like that at school, Tony. Maybe I could have done better and algebra! LOL But yes, a little more faith and a little less why could do wonders for society. It is so interesting to read about early days when church was a habit every Sunday and we all took God for granted as being part of our lives. Perhaps that was the problem, taking Him for granted.. Giddy :))

I think the rigid construction suits the mathematical subject matter, its an interesting take on the relationship between God and man by looking at it as a mathematical equation. It reads a bit tongue in cheek, it has a nice upbeat meter, and the rhyme scheme aids in that. Kind of a humorous look at solving the problem of the relationship between man and God. estory

Hi T, what a cool poem about faith or doubt of godheads! I think the language of the universe is math and if one wishes to speak with God, one needs to speak the right language. Great rhyming and clever metaphor throughout.

If the mathematical approach could unite the world religions, I imagine that whatever God or gods there might be, would perhaps be more inclined to listen. Kind regards, Tony
