This is interesting Tony. I must say I am with you. Faith is indeed the answer. Mathematics was never my forte anyhow. Faith can move mountains, so I will stick to just having faith. It always makes me feel good. LOL Well done. Nancy

Of course, he didn't say it in English, but that's beside the point
It seems the universe conforms to logical principles
which may imply intelligence or that mathematics is the course of least resistance
Y (why) is always on the opposite side of the equals sign (or should be)
and is often a slippery slope, like the sides of an hourglass
Any poem that uses a right triangle can't be wrong
and that's the paradox of the unknown
The solution is the path of least resistance, for that is nature course
Loved your poem, x is 5 in straight world
But six in the poetry of the stars
Best wishes in the contest

I'm afraid that I have fallen short of the conventional wisdom of 7 being God's number by suggesting that he is only 5, and a hypotenuse at that. Your compromise of 6 for poetic licence is most acceptable! Thank you!

Oh, you clever, clever boy. I almost gave up at the illustration - numbers are NOT my thing - but couldn't because I had to see what you did with that intimidating chart. Your Ys as wherefores is a delightful concept and well worth exploring. The X factor folks will ponder and those that would x out religion altogether might give another thought for the reasons for faith if not accepting its premise. Quite the poem Tony and your 'reasons' for writing it are good for a lifetime of conjecture. - Wendy

I enjoyed your review, Wendy. 'Blind' faith frightens me - there seems to be so much of it about these days. Nonetheless, reason by itself has limitations. I think they are complementary.

Love this poem, it is a keeper. It reminds me of the physics proposition that

Yes life is something to be solved. This is a poem of faith. But I don't think faith takes the why out of life. It makes us wonder why we are here and what we are to do before we move from this rented place we live in.

You make a valid point. It is not really a case of taking the 'why' out of life and replacing it with faith, more a case of enriching 'why' with the addition of faith.
