I loved your poem, so cleverly told in the Quatern form, with each repeated line fitting in its place without a hitch. Your meter is perfect and the rhymes too. Thank you, Adonna, for your wonderful review and exceptional rating. And thank you, by the way, for commenting that I look like I've "barely touched fifty." Yeah, right! You are too sweet. I always read any poems I write (which aren't many these days) to my husband before I post them. He always enjoys the Quatern form and had asked if I'd write one with those "repeating lines," as he calls them. It wasn't hard writing about turning seventy.

Thanks so much for your review. You mentioned dropping the word "some" from the last line in the second stanza. If I were to do that, the line would have only seven syllables, and the Quatern form contains eight-syllable lines.

I've moved well into my 70s now and am resigned to the fact that Deo Volente
(God willing) I'll have to face the Seven turning to Eight in the next few years.
After that who knows? I'll wait and see. Just as long as my brain continues to work I'm content with my lot in life. Your poem is charming and though tinged with a hint of regret is accurate in its summation of the years' encroachment throughout our lives. All in all a well written piece. cheers Cass
