I enjoyed reading this delightful childhood memory story. From one to one hundred, you you took me right there to that bowing alley, and that is what a good short story should do.

A good little story of nostalgia and good use of the beginning and ending words. A worthy entry for the contest. best of luck in the voting booth.

This says a fantastic participation in a game where both father and son played, son played something beyond expectation of his father, son bowled one hundred; I liked.

A one hundred game (without the bumpers being raised of course) is not a bad score for an eight-year-old to pull off.
Especially for their first time bowling.
The pros on television make it look so easy, but it's really not as easy as it appears.
Neither is writing a complete story in just 100 words.
I wish you the very best of luck in the contest.
