Pioneer women folks
Didn't cry when
their men were hurt
They picked up their rifle to set things straight.
***
This is very well written with a smooth flow of words making for a good read.

Thank you Lucas, I can's spend as much time on the computer, writing, as I would like, So I don't get to my reviews as often as I should. I still have a full time job, but hopefully I will be able to retire soon and spend more time writing. Thanks again.

There are some of us
Who have been retired
from an active life
To deal with diseases
Times goes by slowly
as we fill the remaining Life
With the gift of writing
Some with a heavy heart

You keep writing. Your talent is greatly respected, and many of us can learn from you.
As was once said in a movie, in a galaxy far far away... The force is strong with you.
I will always look forward to hearing from you Lucas.

I'm not big on the western stuff, but I like some of it. (Spaghetti westerns mostly.) The piece is written well, always taking into consideration the vernacular of the folks where dialogue is concerned. Unless I missed it, 98 cons is a lot in a group, but how are they being transferred? (Train, wagons, etc.) A posse out to get one guy is usually several men strong. I'll leave that up to you. Only one small typo...
"...from the hitching post and climed into the saddle." Should be "climbed."

Thank you very much for your kind review. In chapter one there were several men in the posse, and they were looking for two brothers. As for the method of transporting the inmates, the telegram indicated that more information would be discussed when the warden returned to the city. By doing this I could keep the telegram short. More information is coming. Thank you for the catch on the typo.

You're welcome - it was my pleasure.

This speaks in continuation of help Levi Sawyer read the telegram from Justice that Paine, Justice and the guards from the prison to travel to Penitentiary transporting 98 convicts to a new prison outside of WallaWalla; comes the climax for resolution; I liked.

She knew he was shot before he came home. Wives get this feel of foreboding about things happening to their husband. At least that is what always happened with me. That will be a very dangerous job and Fuzzy is right. "The odds stink!
Ninety-eight cons..., an' I've been told, thar ain't no more than eight guards."Of course Levi will accept the assignment. Well done Larry. Nancy

Thank you very much. I hope you enjoy the story as it progresses. Just as a side note, in the real world, it was 8 guards who brought the first inmates from Seatco Prison, and the number of inmates was 93. There's some good stuff coming.

A good Western is always hard to beat.
Storyline contains enough action to move the tale along.
Several different directions you could travel this accounting in from this point forward.
