A great tribute to the pooch in your life. You know, a dog can snap you out of any kind of bad mood that you're in faster than any thing I can think of. Thanks for a great piece.

This is a very cute Haiku on summer, I love the "dog days of summer" part the best.
Good luck to you, my friend. ~Kerry

Sweet! This is adorable. Loved the picture of the little Chihuahua soaking up sun by the pool.
Dog days of summer is a perfect satori line with an excellent play on words.

Well done.

Thank you for your review. I was surprised to learn that my niece, an art teacher, spent twenty minutes giving Mina here a tummy rub in order to coax her to remain in that position for the shot.

That is so cool. I didn't realize it was Mina. What a sweetie.

Chihuahua's are my weak spot so you have got me there! I long to have one but instead I have a little white Jack Russell Buffy and she hates cuddles which is what I wanted in a dog. I still love her though. Anyway this poem is very amusing with the picture matching perfectly, very well done, with the link between Chihuahua and Dog days. kind regards Meia :)

Well said. This reminds me of this time of year in Florida, except everyone's at the beach, laying in the sand, soaking up the sun. That's a great picture you chose to go with your poem.

I really like your haiku. Right now I am having anything but relaxation poolside.
But, enough about me. This is a precious haiku. Clever, funny, and the illustration really fits the text. Good for you. Enjoy your summer.

Hahahahaha - great wordplay here, and a clever choice of photograph to compliment your words - very cute. Dog and cat poems seem to do well in the booth. Good luck with this charmer. :))

A very well-written haiku. I think I mudt go join the Chihuahua there at the pool's side. Although, I will not put on my bathing suit, the sun is not warm enough yet. Lol.

Nice use of the term 'dog days'. It looks as though your Chihuahua is in for a 'Sirius' case of sunburn! One of the charming things about dogs is their absolute lack of inhibitions.
