I found a chuckle in the double meaning of the haiku.
I like the implied humor here with the touch of reality that you infused with an actual picture.

I can sense both the effort and enthusiasm you have as a writer to architect this wonderful piece. Thank you

Cute dog, and awesome picture. The piece is self-evident, adding to the humor. It certainly look as though a good time is being had by all!

As always, thank you for sharing. You seem to have a way of transforming personal experience into literature - Cheers!

Thank you, Hansel, for your review of my humorous haiku which just won third place in the Summer Poetry Contest! On vacation in Sayulita, Mexico, my niece, an art teacher, spent twenty minutes giving my dog Mina tummy rubs to coax her to hold that position for the shot.

Great verse and terrific image to go with it! I especially like the touch of blue, even around the neck.

This is my cat's favorite pose as well.

I've been all over Mexico but missed this spot. It looks inviting!

Thanks!

This haiku, Belly up Poolside, is the literal description of this haiku's graphic support. This fellow will need some lotion soon, if anyone cares to apply it. Funny moment to capture in verse and viewing.

This was just too cute. I love the idea of the dog sun bathing. Actually my Podge does it, although no on a sun longer.

I wish you every luck in the contest with this adorable entry

hugs

Andre, What an adorable poem.
Which describes the scene of your dog sunbathing with such vivid imagination.
The dramatic word play is fantastic which strengthens your statement brilliantly.
and a great picture to accompany
