Natures specks to us in interesting metaphors. Storms remind me of those temporary hurdles we face in life. Yet I love watching them as long as I'm safe inside. You described this one in great detail.

It's always crazy when even when it's not raining where you're at you can hear it raining in the distance if it's close enough to you. We've gotten a ton of rain recently, it's raining as we speak, and I just want a couple nice (not humid) days so I can go for a walk. It is crazy how something like the rain can make us think about our own lives like you did. Pretty cool

Another superb one! You have got the tetrameter poem down to a fine art. Throw in the fine rhymes and expressive sentiments and descriptive vocabulary, and you should be a world renown poet. Or maybe you are and we just don't realize it!

Beyond the blue, a sunset glows.
It shimmers there before my eyes,
like silky apricot and rose --
a scene to surely hypnotize.

Isn't it mystical how we can sometimes see the light while still in darkness. To see blue skies beyond the purple clouds is a delight to the senses.

Beautifully descriptive poem about a coming storm.
Nature often gives us pause, reminds us of
human frailty and our need to trust that there
is light behind every cloud.
I love the imagery you use.
Nicely done.

A wonderful analogy, my friend. I like when poetry teaches lessons, especially when I'm able to "get it". I used to be terrified of storms, so I can relate to the fear of looking into the storm. But you did something better, you pointed out what was behind you. The beauty of a setting sun.

You pulled the two parts together so well. Great job,
Rhonda

What lovely sentiments your poem expresses, and I am enjoying it while watching the power of nature unfold outside my front window. Clouds have been billowing tall and mightily all morning, and they have just unleashed pounding rain and incredible lightning--I am in awe!

I have one suggestion for consideration:
"will hold our lives in peace serene."
--Although "peace" is the noun, with "serene" the modifying adjective, the words on their own convey very similar meanings, i.e. either one of them would suffice to carry your meaning.
Consider:
will guide our lives to skies serene.
will help our lives in peace convene.

Regards,
pf
