Nicely written, Sandra. I am not one who guessed the reasoning here, though. I guess I have not known anyone with this problem. The red eyes like orbs really threw me. I was thinking of an alien... ha, ha! I wondered how an alien and the 1800's connected.
Nice job!

Perhaps next time we'll have an alien! LOL, Thank you, Drew, your review gave me a giggle, I'm glad you enjoyed it. Big hugs, my friend. :) Sandra xxx

I'm still finding this very interesting, even though parts still confuse me. I really should loook at earlier chapters. Perhaps when my eyes are better. Albino hamsters and other small animals have that red eye feature.

Thank you for persevering, JDBAR, yes, it's not a story that can easily be jumped into, but if you can still enjoy it, then that is music to my ears. Thank you, my friend. :) Sandra xxx

Meg(,) woman. , is not needed.

Thank you for this wonderful addition that you even used to teach some of us things that we did not know. A life in danger just because of a malfunction.

Thank you for nudge on that comma, Barb, I've taken it out. I miss them where they should be, and put them in where they shouldn't! I'll get it one day!! LOL. Thank you my friend, for reading this part, and for your thoughts on it. I'm delighted you enjoyed it. Big hugs. :) Sandra xx

Well, bounced right back in time now. Sounds like she has her work cut out for her. Nice story progression and foreboding for what might happen next.

Thank you, JoAnn. She is far happier about the way she can come back at the same time she left. That will make things easier for her ... I think!! Big hugs, my friend. :) Sandra xxx

Poor little tyke, about to be done away with through no fault of his own. This time it will be less complicated for Veronica
and her family. She's only gone for a few seconds and can be seen by the one who needs her. I really like time travel stories. You are so good at this Sandra. Kudos my dear friend. Love it. Nancy

I know, it's sad how people are afraid of difference. While I was researching albinism, I found that even today people are wary of these people. We are such a prejudiced lot. So sad, isn't it? Thank you so much, Nancy, it's really nice to know you like this story. Big hugs, my friend. :) Sandra xxx

Excellent work! I have to admit, when you mentioned the red eyes at the end of the last part, I thought demonic influences. I didn't think about albinism until I saw the photo with this entry.

I didn't see anything you should change, so I'm glad I have six stars left for you!

Keep writing!

Aww, thank you so very much, Dweight, for this lovely review and all those lovely stars. I'm sorry I led you up the wrong path!! LOL, actually, I'm not really, lol. I'm just delighted you are enjoying my story. Biggest hugs, my friend. :) Sandra xxxx

Ignorance always seems to generate fear of things we don't understand or have never seen. I guess it's a common reaction for everyone, although, personally, I've never understood. Different doesn't always mean strange and peculiar, or at least it shouldn't in a fair and educated world. Thanks for sharing another of your fine chapters. :-)

There are those around today who are wary of albinos. Yet they are no different to the rest of us who have different colour eyes, green, blue, brown. I've met a lady whose eyes were both a different colour, now that was weird but not scary! Thank you, Ric, for continuing to support me and my book, I really appreciate your lovely reviews. Big hugs my friend. :) Sandra xxx

I didn't see any nits, probably because the story had me mesmerized.

Poor little boy. Yes, it would have been horrific for someone like that back then. When I was a child, my blind cousin married an albino man. Having seen him for a lot of my life, I never found it strange when I saw others.

I love that you introduced the Council. Perfect answer for why Veronica time travels. Very interesting. 8-)

Thank you so much, Yvonne, for these lovely 6 stars and wonderful review. It was nice of you to share a part of your family with me. I've never met an albino, but it wouldn't matter what colour their eyes are, any more than the colour of your skin. It's a sad world where people think differences are wrong. If we were all the same, how boring the world would be. I think it's lovely that you grew up knowing there was nothing strange about your cousin-in-law. Big hugs, my friend!! :) Sandra xx

Hi Sandra, I recognised he was an albino right away. Not because I'm clever but just because I know about it. They lack the melanin in the skin. Great chapter and it's taken on a new dimension 'The council'. Sounds a bit sinister to me. I love you've chosen Leif for one of them. It's a very common Danish male name. Can't wait to reading on. So very well written. I love it. A hug. Ulla xxx

Aww, thanks, Ulla, that is so nice of you. I didn't know it was a Danish name, but it's lovely to know there are 'Leif's out there! Thank you, dear friend, for the six stars, and this lovely review. You are so sweet! :) Sandra xxx

This time-travel story's really fascinating, quite unique -
full of suspense and twists - I've never really seen an albino child.

excellent writing, Sandra. Well worth a six.

Thank you so very much, Margaret, for the lovely six stars! Coming from you, that is a huge compliment!! I've never met one either, but my researches show there are still many people who are wary of them, and are quite abusive. Such a shame. Thank you again, my friend, I really appreciate your review. :) Sandra xxxx
