Gypsy, I like the use of Sol's name included in this haiku. I wonder how many readers would notice if you hadn't emphasized it. A great addition to your book. Stay cool! :) Nancy

Great haiku. I guess it's even more enjoyable for me than for those who don't speak Spanish.
Very intelligent use of the word isolation and the highlighting was a good idea.
Thanks for sharing.

You wrote a perfect Haiku that goes so well with the artwork. I love how you describe that the relentless heat keeps you indoors, iSOLation. I specially likes how you put SOL in capitals in the last line.

I like the pun in the last line - very clever, and it captures the message of the poem in one word. The metaphor of the sun as a menacing force that places us under house arrest will resonate with those of us in the northern hemisphere this time of year.

Great work.
The artwork alone depicted the heat perfectly.

Over the weekend it got so hot here in Europe
(with Spain topping 45 degrees Celcius) that we had to remain in the water or seek shade in the pool house.

I like the way you played the SOL card!

Best,
Aki xx

Gypsy, this is a fine haiku on a day where it reached ninety-seven degrees in the East Bay. I had to do my walk after the sun set, because the "unrelenting heat kept me inside the house." Your playful satori with its play on words "iSOLation" is effective and clever.

I do have a couple of questions about the challenges. I noticed that several have sparse postings, barely enough for two pages on the theme for the book. Am I permitted to post to those earlier challenges? Is there a cutoff? It appears that fewer people are posting to the second series of Haiku Club challenges perhaps because they are on summer vacations. I am concerned that the new book will be thinner from lack of submissions.

Thank you for sharing your well-timed haiku and for championing the genre. I have followed up Haiku Anthology by submitting to the Haiku Journal and a contest in Japan.

This multiauthor fanstory book is not for a book. I will create a new one for the anthology 2 in September.

You are welcomed to post to previous chapters now. We have five so far. It's not as popular but I think it's helpful to keep it going.

    Take care my friend.

I am glad you were inspired by the prompt and entertained us with your wordplay in this 5-6-4 haiku and the striking artwork. Try to keep cool and have a productive new week- Joan

Too much can be a problem if it is a searing unrelenting heat otherwise I do love the sun and all it brings to the table friend. Nice haiku for your challenge, I should really do one it has been a while : )
