I've never been to Texas but it's on my list to do some Spring. I've seen beautiful pictures of fields of bluebells.

yes - bluebonnets - mostly in the hill country north of San Antonio - the big fields of them, but they grow along the roadside certain places here in town,too. Also our Riverwalk is pretty with shops and restaurants.

That's right - bluebonnets. My sister-in-law is from Plainview and my daughter gets to Austin and Houston with her job. One of these days, I'll make it too.

Lovely, lovely sonnet, perfect iambic pentameter except in one small space that is very easily fixed: you use cannot as one word. As one word, the stress is trochaic - (CANnot). However, if it is two words, it becomes iambic (can NOT.) So, pop a space in and all will be exactly perfect. Excellent work - loved the happy, somewhat surprising ending!!!
