I can definitely relate to your poem dear patty! I just left a boyfriend for cheating on me the whole time we were together. He was a manipulator and a narcissist.
Thanks for sharing!
Blessings and a big squeeze!

That happens all the time. The love-hate triangle. We think it's the real thing, then it blows up in our face. Leave town. In my case, I left the country. LOL. Well done, this is a wonderful Etheree poem, with some subtle rhyme as well. :) Sandra xx

I rather like this because it says everything so clearly without wasting words and how true it all is. Great the way you set the poem out in easy to read format with blue and white colours.I wonder whether it would work just as well if not better if the punctuation marks were omitted. Well done!

Hi; thank you so much for reading and reviewing this poem. I'm glad you enjoyed it and the presentation. I never really know what to do about punctuation in my poetry - if I leave it out, I get feedback on how it needs it, and when I put it in, people wonder how it would read without it.

Good morning, Patty
Loved the form...never saw this style before. It's funny, when we fall in love we cannot bear to be apart, but once the love fades the opposite unfortunately occurs.
Enjoyed.

Take care and stay safe,

Ray

Hi Ray; thank you so much for reading and reviewing this poem. The etheree pops up in contests once in awhile on the site, and its listed in shadowpoetry.com as one of the poetic forms. I like writing them because they are somewhat challenging to work with the syllable count and still have a cohesive piece.

Great double reverse Etheree patty and choosing the love/hate them makes it work very well, because unfortunately that is what does happen with a lot of couples when ecstasy and passion turn to hate and hurt. Well done with this one,
cheers,
valda

The artwork is excellent and complements your poem very well It is a double Etheree alright. Nothing needs changed. Just the title makes me sad.

Sounds like like this guy changed with the relationship. From the emotion in the poem, it seems he may have been an abuser of some kind. At least there's hope at the end for a real healthy love.

Keep writing

A sad, yet true account of many love situations. The double etheree is very effective.
I enjoyed your poem
There is nothing to change, I wish the 150 character message would leave!

Good morning Patty, this is a great double etheree poem. I love that you have used the antonyms to describe the love/hate in love and hate. I love the way you so neatly lined up each sentence. I also agree with everything you said in your poem, so tru, so true...

Great poem, mate. Loved the sorrowful sad tale, of the good then the bad, and hope you found something greater to replace whatever from before. Loved the artwork too. Thanks for sharing

Did you see I put up an old Story (about women's troubles and connection with original sin) to do with things that women have to endure at Menopause. If you have not got there yet well might be good to know for later.
