Excellent chapter - I don't see anything that needs to be corrected. Hope you have a wonderful vacation and safe travels!

Thoroughly enjoyed this chapter and the rich history.
Didn't know there were different names between concentration camps and extermination camps.
Great writing!

I enjoyed the little bit of this story so far. I liked that you incorporated the Roma and other groups, such as the mentally ill, into the concentration camps and that you explain what happened there.

My two daughters have Italian Roma as their heritage so it's fun to see it appear from time to time. There is very little written about the Roma and other Gypsy groups that it makes for some great reading.

You gave me a five star review but only marked four stars. I have no idea what needs to be corrected to get five stars.

Hi Barbara, it's well written and your facts are almost correct although you're out by fifty percent. It was not three million Jews who were exterminated on assembly, but six million, 6 million Jews who were killed, most of them gassed. I've been to those places and it is horrendous what happened. It must never be forgotten.
Shana patted a couple of time on her knees. Sounds awkward. what about simply ' Shana patted her knee.
And blew it out equally as slowly= and blew it out equally slowly.
All the best. Ulla:)))

I have been to those places also and they are still horrible. I could feel the terrible things that happened there. Thank you for the kind review. I will go back to my research. Maybe I copied it wrong.

They are never too long, Barbara, each part seems to get to the end far toooooo soon. I really enjoyed Shana's story, and watching the video. They lived through such hard times, in fact the Jews have always suffered from injustice through to today. Will it ever end? I feel so sorry for Shana, she only wants what is rightfully her family's. Isn't that what we all want? Well done, my friend, another wonderful part. :) Sandra x

How horrible. We all know what happened, but to be reminded in detail... hard to take. No wonder Trump went to Poland. All this time, I had assumed Auschitz was in Germany. So I thank you for the history lesson.

I didn't find this particularly long at all, Barbara...
This has great character development and it's a part of
important history shared through your writing.

A most inpressive chapter, my friend.

Have a wonderful holiday.

I am pleased I found your chapter before you're away on holiday. Good photo of prisoners. I wondered if it was partly autobiographically? I am interested in the war as my grandfather and father were deported, I don't know where to. He was traumatised and did not tell much about it.

thank you for sharing another chapter in this story. I'm sure that for some; it is a lesson on what happened in the 30s and 40s of the last century. You are certainly doing a good job of describing the Holocaust and all of the people it affected.

Hi Barbara,

this isn't long at all, not noticeably so anyway whilst reading it. Good character development and an important bit of history shared.

meant inhuman forced labor, brutal treatment - maybe inhumane here?

All the best
G
