Yeah, you are so right. Sex on the beach is a sandy nightmare. I once got so distracted during the awkward act I was swept out to sea by the high tide. Whoever started the idea that sex on sand is romantic should be horsewhipped with a real horse. I think maybe it WAS that famous scene "From Here to Eternity". Thanks for the laugh.

Yes, TKField, I the movie inspired people to attempt sex on the beach. One reviewer from Florida witnessed couples imitating this scene all of the time on the beaches. You being swept out to sea by high tide would make a great story. Thank you for your review. I am glad my poem made you laugh.

Hahaha a different haiku showing practicalities while making love on the beach. Interesting concept; enjoyed reading. Great choice of picture and music too.

This poem was very enjoyable. The "on beach" is a little awkward. A Haiku makes it difficult. I suppose you could play around with amour or another substitute for love.... but the poems works as is.
I like the "don't", it has intensity.

Thank you, Ann, for your review of my enjoyable poem. Sense the Haiku Club Challenge this week was summer love I wanted to use those words. I love my use of "don't" too because that is how people say the phrase "where the sun don't shine.." Thanks.

pretty funny. I wonder what made you think of that movie?
Hate to admit I saw it - tells my age - but that was quite a scene. Very risque at the time. Also love old Blue Eyes singing that song.
Your Haiku is humorous. and true. Sand in the bathing suit - not fun.

Oh, thank you, pome lover, for your review of my humorous, true haiku. While writing this, I wanted to create a poem that got under people's skins. I wrote two different poems about lovers on a sandy beach for this week's Haiku Club Challenge: Summer Love, and I chose this haiku over the other because it achieved my objective. I illustrated it with the most iconic movie scene of lovers in the sand. Old Blue Eyes' song enhanced it.

This poem made me chuckle as the thought of lying on a sandy beach must be the most uncomfortable and itchy thing going. I love the song, picture, and poem. Thank you for sharing.

LOL! Such a cute and naughty poem! Yes, those love scenes really don't show the whole story - do they? Well structured and a great presentation. Thank you for sharing,

Ah, the perils of the beach
There are some beaches in France where the sun doesn't miss a thing
Great choice of picture to match your humorous haiku/senryu
perhaps written in Sanskrit
I think that scene may have single handedly increased the world population.
Well done
RS

Yes, RS, that scene single-handedly increased the world's population. One reviewer in Florida reports that he walks past couples making love in the surf and sand to copy the movie. Thank you for your review.

This work has reached the exceptional level

I love the movie "From Here to Eternity" and this is delightful haiku for the picture. I have often thought, as I saw this scene, that it could be problematic. A fun haiku for the Summer Love challenge.
Well done Andre.

Blessings
Janet

Oh, thank you, Janet, for your generous, six star review of my fun Summer Love haiku. Deborah Kerr later told an interviewer that the beach scene was hard to shoot because sand and seaweed got in her bathing suit. You will never see that in the film.

    Thanks again.
