Well written, well worded, realistic dialogue, and suspensefully controlled. I truly like this story and sincerely hope King Tubbo gets his just reward by the end of the book.

You have a very engaging autobiography, Brett, which you deliver remarkably well. It may be hard to imagine what took place if one has never gone through it as a child. But you pull it off with beautiful words that bring the message hom. Sometimes our societies do us more harm than goood, in their institutions.

And this man is plain old mad and perverted - you show that in excellent words:

He continued his justification for the impending circumstance by saying, "Your repeated inappropriate behaviors, coupled with your continual rule breaking, now culminated by your unauthorized departure from Hermitage Hall, more than qualifies you for the infliction of said castigation." For good measure he gleefully threw in, "And, by the way, just for your own information Mister Know-it-all, nobody is going to say anything about what I do to any of you dregs of society. EVER! Simply stated, no one cares about you at all. No one. Do you hear me? No one!"

Yes he was "mad and perverted" as you so eloquently stated.

God, this is intense. It reminds me of things in my own past. I'll be reading along, so keep it up.

"Did you really think your running away from Hermitage Hall, especially on such an auspicious occasion as the day of my Summer Solstice Ball, would go unnoticed (comma) you insignificant piss ant!" (

"I may lose this battle, (semi-colon needed instead of a comma) however, I will ultimately win this war."

Brett,

I would like to think that you may be embellishing this story a bit. I would like to. But it sounds like you mean every word. That makes me really sad, I have to confess. Thanks for sharing!

Embellishing? No, just "reporting" on the events that happened.

Glad you enjoyed this portion of my autobiography.

Much more to come so I invite you to ride along.

OMG, it's time to take that knife and use it. Safer to be locked up in the city jail. You sure had guts and are on a role. Can't wait to see what happens.

Although the thought never occurred to me to use my switchblade in that situation, after reading your review, if I could have gotten away with it then it sounds like a novel idea.

Much more to come so I invite you to ride along.

Was this ever reported later on? I mean this is atrocious.

All of us knew being directed to King Tubbo's office was to be avoided at all costs. (King Tubbo, I love it)

How sad that tubbo could get away with this kind of behavior directed at the boys in the Hall. I could barely read this without cringing. You tell a good story although it is sad. I will have to wait to find out the results of this latest action. Not sure what to think except it is sad. Jan

I realize the wording strop and strap but you intermingle the two and makes it different.
Very well written and putting us right there, you leave us wondering the fate.

Some hard time indeed, and I'm sorry you were on the receiving end of all this. You certainly deserved the anger but not to that degree. It amounted to abuse. All best. Ulla Just curious. Do you ever review?

of course he did, unless the cops suddenly show for some reason, which we know they won't do...at least Brett finally got it out of his system. He'll be a Hero!

Scary, worrisome, suspenseful write, that you can't stop reading.
Made me smile to read: 'and the answer is...' Gotcha and a half!
