Hey Patty, I've noticed this picture poem by a few of our poets. I'm loving that you used this Monchielle form of poetry and you gave us the lesson in you Arthur notes. Thank you for this education.
Your poem is great and I could picture you walking in that rain, the splash of the cars in the puddles as rush by and your shoes getting wet as you walk.
Your poem is thorough. I've been there. I even remember myself planning to hit the sauce ( have a drink) once you I would get home. I would be running out of the freezing rain and finally arriving to your door out of the winter blast weather into the heat full blast.
YES! I remember days like this so your poem is awesome.

Mustangpatty,
Very enchanted atmosphere, non-judgmental, thought provoking, very enjoyable and thrilling. Very informative and soulful, full of vivid impressions, effective and impressive.
There was no SPAG, no typos, no room for improvement.
I look forward to seeing you again.
Love you,
Oatmeal

This is a wonderful 'picture this' monchielle poem.
Which describes the scene with such imagery.
The alliteration is fantastic which strengthens your words
and a lovely picture to accompany which you have married with your words wonderfully well.

Hi, Patty! So far, yours is the best rainy poem that I have read.
I really enjoyed the first stanza:
Cold rain runs down the streets
I need my umbrella
Water on ev'ry lash
I just want to get home
Cars rush by with a splash.
And I like the rush towards the heated room in the last stanza. You have portrayed a cold, rainy day exceptionally well.

I know this feeling very well. It happened to me just the other day. I hate getting caught in the cool rain where my feet are wet with soaking, squishy socks, and tennis shoes when I happily enter my apartment.

Comment from Margaret Snowdon
You could almost be writing about England - we have considerable rain-falls - a well written Monchielle poem, which has an unusual rhyme pattern, but works really well.
all in all, most impressive, Patty.

Hi Margaret;
thank you so much for the lovely review. I'm glad you enjoyed this poem - it rains a lot here in the Pacific Northwest, too. So, I just wrote of the adventures of walking in the rain,

What a fun take on the Picture This challenge. You have done the form to perfection and the subject is quite clever. I too felt soaked by the end of the piece. I also liked your snarky comments that punctuated the descriptions with your emotion. - Wendy

Thank you for introducing us to this delightful form of poetry! I have tried the diatelle, but I'll have to give this one a shot. You painted a rainy day experience in a very clever way. Well done.

Comment from Barb Hensongispsaca
this form is very different and one I have never seen before. Nicely done in the strong repeated line that sets the scene for the rest of the stanzas. Nice rhyming and good flow.
