A very well-written haiku. I have other methods to combat those invisible flu bugs. I build up my immune system with various herbal immune boosters. I did not have flu for the past five years.

Needles have the bad habit of coming to the point. It's a sticky business. This is very well written with a smooth flow of words, making for a humorous read.

Lady Christine of she who(or is it whom?) is from Down Under,
Here I thought you were going to rattle off something like:

a fly and a flea in a flue
said the fly to the flea "Let us flee" said the fly
so they flew out a flaw in the flue

Your poem to flu is better...

Me or Am I My Shadow?

Hi Michael, Ha Ha, I did have a real chuckle or was that a cackle at your flawed flying flea flying freely from flu. LOL Great to hear from you . Stay well Cheers Christine.

This is such a cute haiku about illness. Your picture and words go well together and the whole thing is summed up with the last line - needle phobia keeps so many people from getting the much needed shot. Well done and good luck in the contest,

~patty~

Oh, this is so true! I especially hate mosquitoes that cause malaria. They used to bite me when I was little and I had to take a very bitter medicine. Anyway, please keep up the good work and have a fabulous day!

I used to hate needles as a kid, Christine, and throughout most of my teenage years as well.
But when I joined the Marine Corps in 1978 straight out of high school, I had no choice but to get over that fear, and quick!
They stick you with every kind of vaccine known to man and beast before you go overseas.
Yet another fun haiku.
Thanks for sharing.
~Dean

Hi Dean, That's good and thanks for your review and phobia fear story, many do and as I am a nurse have seen many a strong man wilt at the sight of a needle Ha Ha (they get it anyway we tie them down No only joking LOL) Have walked Bonnie now back home in the warm. I thought this haiku up while walking Bonnie and as it is 'flu season' here It may just meet this illness challenge requirement. Hope so Cheers and enjoy your day ( Just what time is it there?) Christine
