Excellently written. However: ",Whether or not one lives for God's sake or for the sake of the human race,
in the end, a good and worthy life would have been led." True. But, what purpose of a good and worthy life if we don't get the reward promised to us for doing so. Without acceptance of Jesus, your perfect life is meaningless.

Thank you so much for your read and your comment. Not sure I agree. But, I value your opinion and am keeping an open mind. Our goodness, I believe, lives on in the lives of relatives and friends. So I don't consider one's life meaningless if one does not accept a supreme power.

Amen. I personally believe there is a God. I believe God lives inside each of us. That's where Jesus said Heaven was. I agree 100%. It's all about how you live your life. Wonderful, blessings...

Congratulations on second place for your poem about God...And, yes do agree about the golden rule, and we all like, or most of us... to be treated with respect and dignity and we should allow the same to people in our lives, or "So whatever you wish that others would do to you, do also to them."

This poem about God, What Is the Truth?, has a lot of philosophical input into what constitutes a belief system and having faith. Being a good person is a good start.

Extraordinary, I could not find one flaw, and totally agree with every word. Religion to me is following the rules of being a good person and not that of some church. I also believe something put us here.

Thank you for your read and your review. It is my belief that one does not need an institutional establishment to be a good person.

And thank you for your read and your kind comments.
Comment from Gloria ....
Wonderful poem. It's always a delight to ponder our origins but only as long as participants are willing to keep an open mind. I agree with you that the Golden Rule is still the simplest and purest guideline for good behaviour.
Great job and I wish you all the best in the contest.

There is a scripture verse that tells us:
Your good works are as filthy rags in the sight of God.
No, being a good person is not entirely enough.
Seek and ye shall find.
Ask and it will be opened up to you.

A very well-written poem about God. We do not know everything and if it is all true. We just need to trust what we learned and have faith. We have more to lose when we decide not to believe or have faith.
