Hi Sandra, this is a very good interpretation of the picture and really amusing. I wonder what the orangutan was really thinking? Whatever, your writing about it is well written, with excellent rhyme and rhythm maintained throughout (a couple of lines are out but hardly worth mentioning in such a great piece of writing). The repetitive line work well, gives extra rhythm to the poem. Very well done. Warm regards Dorothy xx

I had great fun with this trying to fit it to the tune of On Ilkley Moor Bar T'at. It wasn't easy but I was so tempted, I made the music fit the words or perhaps it was the words to fit the music. Anyway it was all good fun, and I do promise never to wear your hat.

Congratulations on All Time Best. Your poem brought back memories of the time I was in Singapore having breakfast with the Orang-a-tangs. I really liked the subject, never ever wear your hat! That can be taken in different ways. You could be a person in charge wearing a hat or, a person who loves to wear a favourite hat! Well done mate.

Ha ha - I love this fun, light-hearted piece you've written, Sandra...

So cleverly thoughtout and well presented.

We've been watching the Oranguans on tv lately - they are such characters

thanks for making me smile, my friend.

Aw, thank you, Margaret. I'm glad you liked it. How is the editing going? Or, are you just having a well-deserved rest? I'm waiting for your next story. No pressure, mind you!! LOL. Big hugs, my friend. :) Sandra xx

Having a break form writing/editing/posting, but it's not a rest, as we are clearing out cupboard, loft and such to take it all to charity, since we are down-sizing and won't need so much. How it all acumalates!! Every time one of the family come, they go home with a bootful - things they've grown up with and don't want us to get rid of them. sigh.

I can understand that, after my parents died, we all took things that had special memories of our growing up. It also keeps them close. Not that your children wanted them for that reason, but they have them and will probably cherish them. Good luck with your packing, it's a very stressful job. xxx

This is a fun and flowing poem. This orangutan sounds like the standard egomaniac actor who thinks he's the best. He sounds fearful of someone taking away his fame.

Keep writing

Absolutely priceless Sandra. You have met the challenge, climbed the hill and left me rolling down it with laughter. I read it aloud, in my best Orangutan accent, and it flowed as smoothly as a foot slides when hitting a banana peel. No need to monkey with the rhyme or rhythm either. Loved every bit of it. - Wendy
