Wonderful, Sandra. As you know, I so love this story. It's fascinating and intriguing. So again Veronica can roam around without being seen. So very well written. I can't wait to read on.
'when Ann and William come to live here in the future' = came to live
'or a fountain pen it in that the Sir John I knew would have' = or a fountain pen in it
Just a wee suggestion if I may. I would take away 'quite' from your very last sentence.= I was in for a surprise. Reads more crisp and has the 'wow, what now?' factor. Hugs from a very warm Spain. Ulla, xxx

Thank you so very much for these 6 stars, my dear friend. I had my friend tell me that.....
'when Ann and William come to live here in the future' = came to live:
But I argued that 'came' is in the past, and 'come' is in the future, and it would be the future where Veronica is now. If she was thinking this in her own time which would be after Alice and William had lived there, then it would be 'came.' Does that make sense to you? I've fretted over this point for ages.
I hadn't noticed that with the fountain pen, thanks for that. I'll sort that last line out as well, lol, you are a great reviewer, Ulla, thank you, my friend. Big hugs from very warm England, but fortunately, not as hot as Spain! LOL. :) Sandra. xxx

Oh, this is good. I'm loving it already.

Veronica has gone back even earlier than Lady Ann's time. You must do a lot of research to get everything so right.

-didn't have any of the twentieth-century things like a phone or a fountain pen it in that the Sir John (I think this sentence may need attention. Or it could be me not understanding)

I'll go and take another look at that, Yvonne, it's nice that you have told me, other's might think the same and not say. Thank you, my friend, I really appreciate this review, these are so important. I'm delighted you're enjoying this story, it's turning into quite a mystery. Thanks again, Yvonne, big hugs. Sandra xxx

Excellent writing as usual. This is getting more and more interesting... Wondering how many times has Veronica actually gone back in time. The ending to this chapter has left me begging for more. Waiting for next..

Thank you, Leena, for your very encouraging review. Veronica started time travelling in the first book, this is the second. She hates it, but once she gets stuck into the problems, there's no stopping her. I'm really glad to have you on board. Thank you! :) Sandra xx

Ohh is that so? I wasn't aware of the first book but I've been religiously following the chapters in the current book. It's indeed very interesting.

The first one is being proof-read at the moment. I hope to get it published later in the year. I want to write a trilogy, and then see what happens. :) xx

Oh, Oh, Here we go with the cliff hangers. LOL You are really loading this one down with intrigue. I really wonder what is going on. What could he be hiding? A child in the attic instead of the cellar? Bravo! Nancy

Yes, you sure do know how to leave us overly curious types waiting in want of knowing what she found in the third. I'm sure we will be in for quite a surprise. Great job. :-)

another satisfying chapter in the quest for Daveth's da. I think you have done a wonderful job of character development here, and I have a feel for the manor house and the paths Veronica walks.

Looking forward to more,

~patty~

Very well done Sandra. I loved the level of suspense and mystery in this chapter and in the story thus far. It was a great twist to leave the ending in such suspense, we as readers know there is a surprise but not what- great job. I really enjoy the details you have provided- they just add more to the suspense. Thanks so much.

I can see this character. You did well. Yep! What a name. "Well, if he aint here, where is he then?" the man demanded. The deep red veins in his blotched cheeks appeared to move like little snakes slithering around to meet across his nose. He glared angrily at Daveth's mother, and I could see the distress on her face.

I like this. Gives me an idea about someone in my book.

Blessins Sandy.

Aww, Ben! Thank you so much, my friend. The 6 stars are shining so bright!! Now, I wonder who in your book that description would relate to?? I can't wait to buy that one, you must remember to let me know when it's published. Thanks again, my friend, your review put a big smile on my face. Big hugs. Sandy. xxxx

I would like to perhaps one day meet you and your hubby. I have visited London once, but it was many years ago.
Who knows we might have tea and discuss writing ideas. LOL.
reply by the author on 19-Jun-2017
I would love that too, Ben. Graham lost his first wife to cancer as I did my first husband, so we know what you are going through. Mine happened 32 years ago, but seems like yesterday at times. I would really enjoy talking ideas of books with you over a nice cup of tea and freshly baked scones. Just let me know, and I'll start baking! xxx

I'm confused... lost, even. All these new people, and a new boy, too. A man and a boy have both disappeared, and Daveth wants to go back... back to where? Isn't he of this time? I think my problem is short memory. If I skip a few days between reading, I'm going to forget the story. You don't post often enough for my tired old brain, perhaps.

I have just gone and read it over again because I couldn't understand where I'd put a boy was missing, or that Daveth wants to go back to somewhere. Daveth is in his own time where he's supposed to be. The only person missing is his father. The boy that this Sir John is referring to, we've yet to find out who he is and what is the mystery of him being seen. Sorry to have you all confused, my friend. I'll put in the character list. That might help. There aren't too many in the story at the moment. Basically, Veronica, Mildred, James and Daveth. The children will pop in and out. And some characters that are, 'extra's' I think they call them. LOL. :) Sandra

Thanks. I think you need to post more often for my slippery little brain. Can't hold on to much these days. :)

I'll try, it's getting the reviewing to post them. Talking of which!! Where is today's post from you?? xxx

Might not be one. But maybe later. I'm depressed. Another dog died yesterday. The male and the oldest. Cancer also. Lexy is the only one left, and that's a good thing I guess since she's always been independent and didn't always stay with the other dogs.

I miss both my little friends a lot. Everything around me is dying but the weeds. Sigh....

Oh, I'm so sorry, Phyllis, I know how hard it must be for you. These pets are our children and when they die, a part of us does too. I still can't get my head around my cat dying, I'll never stop missing her. To lose two so near each other, I really feel for you, my friend. Sending you a big hug, not that it helps much. Much love, my friend. xxx

It helps. Knowing someone cares always does. Sorry you lost your cat, too.

    I just posted a boring chapter. :)

I've just read it, and it wasn't boring at all. It was true to life. I'm always here to chat. xxx
