I like the way the phrase 'slim band of gold' bookends the story of the loving marriage that it represents. This keeps the prompt requirement of the prized object to the forefront, while also allowing the poet to venture into deeper territory.

its always painful when the spouse 'leaves,' because he/she has been called home. No matter how much time we've had, it never seems to be enough. Thank you for sharing this lovely poem about the joys and sadness of marriage,

This speaks about circle of enduring love of husband, now the lustre, ecstasy, words, letters and memories left as tokens of love, everything of his love in sights, sounds in vision; I liked.

Oh that was a shock, it was going so well. The gold colour background works well. The last line is very powerful. The poem flowed well with good rhythm and alliteration. 'Then he left.' very powerful. MaggieF

This is a nice tribute to enduring love, even though one partner is now gone. Yes, the ring "Encircling my finger, entwining our hearts... " is the right symbol for it, and the right token to prompt fond memories. Well done, and aptly illustrated.
