Hello T. I felt like the crazy girl here reading this. I expected it to come out one way and H E L L O it came out entirely unique. The transgender dealio is so nuts! So many people who can't live inside the skins they were born with as nature got it wrong! Good luck in the contest. This is a winner for sure. xoxo Kiwi

Well... all I can say is that in this day and age, this scenario is completely plausible.
I've always felt I had poet/story writer Edgar Allan Poe living inside of me.
Perhaps plastic surgery could...oh, never mind.
I certainly didn't see this ending coming which is the mark of a good piece of flash fiction.
Good job, and good luck in the contest!

Excellent. My wrist is broken and I'm typing with one finger, so I'll keep this brief. This is very well-written, with a gentle surprise ending. Loved it. A 'six', for sure. Margaret

You've done an excellent job with the 100 words you chose. I was engaged from the start and so curious to learn who the narrator was waiting for and what the exchange was going to be. I must say, the ending was unexpected. Well done, good luck in the contest.
Thanks.

Oh, I like this. A lot. I have a friend who finished his transition about three years ago and is now happily married and happily everything else, too.
Beautiful post, wonderful use of so few words. I'll be voting for this one.

I couldn't agree with you and your story more. So many unhappy people trying to live their lives trying to meet up to the standards set by someone else. Thanks for sharing your fine story. Great job! :-)

but, I don't have <-- Remove comma.
Terrific idea and well written. Bravo! With all the talk of transgenders, this is timely too
Just one thing I would change:
"I tried to tell you I was different for years, Dad."

This hundred-word story, Listen Carefully, has a neat twist ending that was nicely punched in after the quick and meaningful narration that set up this revelation for the dad. Fun story.

i feel the nervousness this person is experiencing, For years the son has told his father that he wasn't like the other boys. Because of the father's upbringing he had shunned his son. Years later, she has become the woman she has always felt that she needed to be
