Hi Trisha; Howie is almost five years old. He is pretty healthy, though I just found out he needs to have a minor surgery on a hernia he has developed--common in little dogs.

I have never grown attached to an animal. So, if my idea about how I view the affection is not chummy enough for an animal lover than I will have lost a potential good friend. Animal lovers are well liked, putting me in a difficult position talking about their favorite subject all the time. I'm sure I do not have overflowing of words to express the attention an animal gives its master but I will say, animal love people because people love them. If you treat them badly, they will fear you. In my opinion, people love their dogs because they have a need to love over hate.

Hi there; do not think I would be offended by your words. I am well aware that I love my animals fiercely because they love me back. I do not open myself to hurt from people - I love my immediate family and my dogs with all my heart - the rest of society and mankind is simply background noise.
