I think it is human nature to yearn for our 'other half.' Lucky are the people who find each other and do everything they can to hold on to that love. Life gives us many challenges, but real love will prevail,

This is a cute poem, Patty, it is simple and to point, the words are sweet. I reminds me of a puppy love, sort of love, that first love during teen age times.

Ampeletum - this is also a new poetry form for me. I've never heard of it before so i will add this to my list of new forms to one day try.

Very well done Patty. the Ampeletum is not an easy form to write with it's short lines and unusual rhyme scheme. Your poem is a pleasant read and conveys the speakers joy of finding her true love and all the uncertainty of a new relationship with the questions in stanzas one and two. I remember this form and have written a few myself. Back then JeJo (Jen) was one of the best poets and reviewers on the site, and she was a high school girl at that time. It was a popular form then and a challenge to most everyone. You've done a great job here.

While I like the thought process here Patty, I haven't felt the depth of your emotion into it. It has good balance and a fast cadence, but I don't feel moved as I feel like I should for a true from the heart love poem. Now please don't get riled up, I am only offering an opinion and I realize we all experience "love" from a different perspective. A pensively happy moment in love's enthrall, so sweetly expressed.

The thought that she 'prayed for you' has me wondering whether she prayed for him to come to her, or stay with her. It's always a good sign to take time to pray for the best partner and not jump into anything.
It's always a questioning doubt at the beginning of attraction to wonder whether the love one has is returned on the same level.

Here's hoping the love is so sweetly returned!
