Surrender to the path that's best --
a choice I've been remiss to choose.
Reluctant to let go and rest
in arms that save, where I can't lose.
Your love is constant -- always there
though I feel lost and others flee.
Please give me grace to grow and share --
accept Your love that's meant for me.
A wonderful poem, moving and intelligent, kind regards Meia x

It has been said someone wiser than I, that the presence of some people in our lives is only meant to be temporary. Once they have served their purpose it is necessary for them to move on, leaving us wiser and better able to face the next challenge to enter our lives. Please hold on to your love for God and continue to trust that he has something better for you in the future. Good write.

The opening lines plunge the reader into the moment of difficulty -the sheer emotional turmoil that ensues is tangible to the reader'Raw anguish that I can't restrain'. Comfort is found ultimately in God's love - well documented

There is a metrical consistency about this poem that is in marked contrast to the inner turmoil that is expressed. In some ways that tends to heighten the sense of drama.
I like the ambiguity. I could take it that there has been a break-up of a physical relationship which has caused grief, but that all will be well if God's boundless love is embraced. On the other hand, the poet could be talking about a lapse in faith that could be mended by a return to the fold. Either way, the mental angst comes through strongly with your words. Your central stanza expresses it particularly well:
"I try to move on past the pain
that festers in my broken heart.
Raw anguish that I can't restrain --
deep anger that will not depart."

Dear poet, I am sorry you are going through some struggles right now in your life. Your poem is beautifully bittersweet, and the perfect rhyme completes the satisfactory aura. Best regards, bertranclan

This is very well done, though I have to apologize. I had just read , and fled from, on of RGstar's works. His verses are so confusing and complex that as I read your poem, I was able to grasp it, but the echo of RG's words made it a bit harder to keep your verses clear. Your first stanza sets the tone for the rest of the work wonderfully.

This is a poignantly penned poem that you have written. Love can transcend time and last forever. Even if lost. I like how you look to the Lord for the strength to carry on. Thanks for sharing. God bless
