life is a roller-coaster ride, that is for sure, loss can be a very dark place where raw emotions rip and tear at one's spirit. Getting out of there can be a battle, reaching, crawling, grasping for the light in whatever form it is, family, friends, faith is the only way out. A Powerful emotionally charged poem!

God is good, Janet, and so is this wonderfully well-written poem you've penned pertaining to God's mercy and grace.
Excellent rhyming, as usual for your poetry, and an uplifting, positive theme to accompany it--also a trademark of yours.
Bravo!

A very emotional poem about lost love, I can feel the heartbreak, but then you find the perfect love of the Lord is there to see you through the difficult time. Both rhythm and rhyme flowing smoothly throughout. I think many of us have been through this and, with the help of the Lord, we've grown stronger as time goes on. Well done Janet. Nancy

I absolutely felt your pain reading through this. I'm sorry you're going through some rough stuff, but it obviously makes for amazing work :/ The opening line is by far the best part of this. You cut straight to the core and make the reader feel exactly what you are feeling. I appreciate that. Keep up the great work.

This resonates so strongly with me - it's beautiful, and hauntingly sorrowful, the strong verbs, the lovely meter, the rhyme all as smooth as satin. It brings tears to my eyes. Well done, and on a personal note - if it IS biographical, as your notes would indicate, my best wishes and prayers for resolution.

A rather lovely spiritual poem about love lost and
the heartbreak, but your faith in the Lord pulls you
through. The words, and both rhythm and rhyme
flowing smoothly throughout.
I think many of us have been through loss and struggles and,
with the help of the Lord, we've grown stronger as time goes on.

This is a great poem of faith - a lament. It is good for us to lament during our times of struggles but to recognize that God is there through it with us always and He is always good.
Well written. I hope things get better for you soon.

Things are better, thank you. This problem just raises it's ugly head from time to time. But each time, I know I am stronger and better able to deal with it.

Love has its only source of healing energy. It is best to let Love die, than to waste your time trying to revive it. It is best to seek a new love. This is very well written.

Sending lots of healing loving thoughts your way, my friend. Sorry you've been going through a loss and intense emotional upheaval. God is indeed always there...the truest love one can aspire to connect with.
Raw anguish that I can't restrain --
deep anger that will not depart.
This is expressive, but it is also telling, not showing. It would be great to add a stanza in that has a metaphor or simile to show rather than tell...in addition to the above, well-worded phrasing.
Good rhymes, flow and alliteration of R and consonance and alliteration of S in this stanza (my favorite):
Surrender to the path that's best --
a choice I've been remiss to choose.
Reluctant to let go and rest
in arms that save, where I can't lose.
Love and Light,
rd

Your words reflect the feelings I've been dealing with, so I could really relate. Within the lines of your poem, you describe how we need something to cling to as we navigate the waters of life. Thank you for sharing this well structured poem,
