Hi Patty. I read this a couple of times to really grasp what your were saying and I must say you have created this Duodec liner is well constructed and meets the poems requirements. Good poem....fine substance, fine flow and good rhyming. Great flow and fluid enjambment. I like the rhythmic punctuation of this line being two five-syllable sentences:

Will it be enough? Can it really help?

Well voiced:
Fill their need, not the one in your head.

A perfect closing:

Only real love can fill the huge void they feel,

Not an easy task to come up with a Duodecliner, it does seem...and you did quite a remarkable job with this poem, and chose quite the picture to enhance it, being the subject as to ease one's pain, can be in many a mind as there is so much in this world to contend with and if one would consider how he or she would like to be treated with if they had the pain of whatever placed on them...Love and true understanding seems the best and initial answer to be what that person needs to help somone else with whatever the pain...help cope, and give them hope.
