Hi Barbara, another great chapter, which I thoroughly enjoyed. yeah, the painting is the answer to it all. But why? Is there another even more valuable painting underneath the one visible? Has been known to happen. You have a lovely time in Missouri. We are going back there next year. I do miss my friends and can't wait to see them again. All the best. Ulla:)))

Hi Barbara,

Nice progression in this instalment, also some elements of backstory woven in well.

As Philip walked through the door - this is just me being me here but this phrase always makes me smile. I get the image of Philip bulldozing his way in through the wooden door, as opposed to simple walking into the room. lol

Now, I think about it, - perhaps now that I think about it?

All the best
G

I made the correction. I will try to remember, no more walking through the door. Thank you.

barbara,

Arrangement and narrations are very good. The story line made sense. The conversation flowed well. The descriptive words are well chosen. The characters were very likable.

There was no SPAG. No typos. No homophones. No problems at all.

I look forward to seeing you again.

Love you,

Oatmeal

Another great post. I haven't found anything that needs revision. I like the possibility that the curator is involved. For the mystery aspect of your story, it is important that things aren't obvious, and you get a twist or two in the plot.

My only concern is I feel you need to get the story out of the apartment again. I think you have hinted there are some changes coming soon.

Looking forward to more.

Keep writing!

I definitely didn't like the sound of the curator, why would he keep them all that time? And isn't it strange that when she left, there were men waiting to follow her? Hmm, He called them, or spoke to the so called owners and they told him to keep Shana there until the men arrived to follow her. Very dodgy goings on there. Well done, Barbara, another excellent chapter. :) Sandra xx

"Everything leads to the painting. I wonder if the curator is involved. Maybe Kuznetsov is innocent. We never considered the curator. We need to check him out." Anderson dialed his cell phone. "I'll have a background check done on him." When he finished his call, he added, "Jeremy will be here shortly. Let's finish our list." You are such an exciting writer! I find your work quite thrilling. Alsovery professional. Well done as usual you have excelled yourself love Meia x

Barbara, as usual your writing is outstanding, easy to follow and keeps interest high. I know about the Russian connection, but did not know that Stalin was the one who encouraged family members to spy on each other. I find it confusing that some of the concentration camps were liberated by Russians. As usual the Russian government is deceitful.

The story is moving along nicely, Barbara.
I'm still hoping romance will blossom between Anderson and Shana

Philip tapped the pen against the pad[?](.) period
Shana stopped to think[;](,) "about - comma
