I am hopelessly behind in my inbox. Sorry to take so long to get to this one. Pantygynt has embedded these Roundels in my brain by suggesting we do a book of them lol Yours is written in perfect form. The refrain line is memorable and effectively reinforced on the proper lines. The rhymes are all in perfect order in the correct places.

I enjoyed reading your post. I am pretty sure all politicians should be locked up simply because they're politicians. They you weren't they would have a real job and not be crooks.

Even if, like me, you are a benighted limey who doesn't get all the innuendoes here, it is easy to understand this satirical diatribe against the current US administration. I'll say this for America, it does everything in superlative style. Nothing is done in halves. You fought the demon drink with total prohibition. That led to the rise of criminal giants like Al Capone et al (another Al). You fought communism with McArthyism, which resulted in the biggest witch hunt since The Salem trials. In Britain we managed to execute only one head of state in the last thousand years (not counting those killed in fair fights) and for a nation that's been going for barely 250 years you have managed 4 with a further 2 possibles. Now that is what i call style.
I remember a presidential candidate in my youth, one Barry Goldwater, whose answer to any foreign threat was "Nuke 'em" and now we have Trump and his answer to domestic problems is the only slightly milder equivalent, "Let's lock somebody up!"
If I were you, Michael, I'd keep a sharp look out -- it could be you. And we'll all say, "Life plus ninety-nine may seem a bit hard, but it was a good roundel."

Hahaha... you are right, Trump and his possee are a bunch of bozos. The Whitehouse is a freaking zoo. I am afraid of reading the news, what new fiasco today? I watch a lot of comedy news to balance it out--Trevor Noah, The Daily Show, and a Closer Look Seth Meyers.
