Hi there,
I would say you nailed the nonet.
Quite catch,y and the flow, even though not rhymed, was consistent.
The third line from the bottom seemed to work better for this reader
as 'Just give me'.. then followed by ...one more... chance...

Seems the breakup was over a difference in "principles" but you are willing to overlook what you perceive as the other person's faults.

Reads smooth and works well, Patty. Though it is a subject I know little of --- never been in love. I've stayed a happy bachelor my whole life. But I have seen the sentiments you mention in your poem in other people's lives.

Relationships between a married couple and a single person is relative. When the married couple are making whoopee, the single person is the loser. When the married couple are arguing tooth and nail, the single person is a genius!

I like this, Patty. I can't figure out any particular offense the narrator wants to be forgiven for, but I don't need to.

The syllable count is very interesting. You pulled it off really well.

I might play around and see if I could write this type of poem. Chances are not good, mind you, but your poem has inspired me.
