My prayers are with you and I want you to know I understand the tears. Yo did what you had to do out of love and I am proud of you for that. Let me tell you a story. My dog was over 18 years old, suffering, but we could not put her down. She was family. Mom drove school bus and Mitzi never went past the house to the shed. Mom started the bus and pulled it out. Mitzi was under one of the wheels. To us, she did what we could not do and I thank her for that even though I still cry when I think about it. Whey would she walk, blind, in pain, to the shed to lay in the wheel well?
this piece was excellently done and I know writing brings release

Hi Barb, Thank you so much for reading my story of Spook and it tested my strength of character but I knew I did the right thing she didn't have a chance. And now she is buried in my garden so I can see her every day. Your story is also a sad one for everyone especially your Mum but that is how Mitzi chose to go as did my Spook so perhaps we just must accept their choice as much as it hurts. I cried while writing my story and went outside last night at midnight to take the photo of her that I used so she was with me then. I miss he terribly but have my lovely memories Cheers my friend

Your story is just wonderful, and the six stars are because it moved me to tears. I had a similar experience once with a beloved cat and I know exactly how you feel. Dobber was my son, Dan's cat. Dan was ten years old, and we were saddling up a very gentle horse to go riding. Dobber was a silver tabby and the sweetest little thing who adored Dan. Dobber was always wherever Dan was, and this day was no exception. Dobber walked behind the horse, just as she lifted her leg, stretched and put it back down, stepping right on Dobber's head.
Dan screamed, "Dobber!" and my heart breaks to this day, with the memory of him holding his dying cat in his arms. I urged him to hurry to the car, hoping we could get to the vet in time, but Dan said, "It's too late, Mom," and he was right. So believe me when I say, I understand exactly how you feel.

Dare I share my story? It begins with a little(,) grey(,) fluffy kitten, a stray I adopted much to the delight of my children. We named her Spook. She grew into a beautiful(,) big(,) fluffy grey cat with a kind(,) gentle personality. We all loved her and she in return gave us so much joy.

Every night she would sit at my feet, wait for me to pat my knee, then up she would jump, settle in for her nightly cuddle. Many years passed and age was (cathing) up with her.

catching

I noticed her hearing had deteriorated and one day not long ago, I rescued her from my son's car wheel as she lay on the warm concrete driveway. "Stop don't drive out(.) Spook is there(.)"(. -- remove this one because the period belongs inside the quotation) Phew that was close. Little did I know.

Hi Janilou, Oh Thank you for your wonderful review and very helpful assistance with my puntuation etc I wrote this late last night so forgive my oversights but even today with a re read my tears still flow. What a terrible event for you and your son with your Dobber I immediately can feel your pain and your story made me cry also .How sad for both of us . I do miss my Spook and ai am sure you both miss Dobber. I found my story difficult to write but I think sharing is good and allows one to release feelings. Your six stars are very much appreciated Cheers my friend
