I ready like how you both learned something out of something that could of turned so bad. And both are able forgive each other like Jesus was trying so hard to teach us. May God Bless you both and now you both a friendship that should not ever die.

Darren, I think this is very well told, and certainly most interesting to read. You have illustrated your situation quite clearly and in a way that would hold anyone's attention through every paragraph.
I don't know why the last part of the story is in a different sized font, but perhaps you could fix that by using advanced editor. Not sure. Anyway, you are a great storyteller, and I loved how you included appropriate scriptures too.
The few minor misspellings and punctuation are not really detractors but if you want to keep this for posterity, you might want to make the corrections. Keep writing. You're doing so well with these stories as well as your amazing poetry.

***But, things being the way that they are, (the way they are... try to eliminate as many "thats" as you can.)
***I am glad that he did. (same... leave out 'that')

***I was ready to go back to the hosital, (hospital)
***So, we acknpwledge (acknowledge) Him when we can,
