It is really chilly here today and a nice cup of hot tea sounds really good. Beautiful cup--I love antiques so very much--after all my house was built in 1885. Well done, my friend~DEbbie

thank you for reading and reviewing and for commenting on my cup. There are two in my collection that are from the late 1800s, so they would be very fitting for your house!

Hello, my friend,

I never saw a teacup poem before, it is so cool. I like short poetry. It's a challenge to say more with less words. I like that it looks like a teacup. :)

Hi Gypsy; thank you for the wonderful review. Its fun to do these shape poems, and I thought it would be cute to write a 'teacup poem' about a teacup.

Ah, I get it--I see why they call these "teacup poems."
They are formatted in the shape of a teacup.

Just call me Captain Obvious. I'm a little dense sometimes.
The antique teacup you have pictured that your son gave you is gorgeous, patty.
I'd be afraid to drink tea out of that!

LOL! I don't drink from it. It lives in a curio, and I was scared to death when I took it out today to get the picture. Thank you for the lovely review - I'm glad it was 'your cup of tea.' (giggle)

I love your son's teacup. Good subtle alliteration, you have personified the teacup, I almost think of her as royalty.Old fashioned teacups did have gold rims to guide you when you poured the tea. Charming. MaggieF

thank you so much for stopping by to read and review. This was a fun little write. I was very careful when I took the cup from its cherished place in the curio to get the picture. I'm glad you enjoyed it.

Very nice little poem. The picture is a perfect stimulant for the words and vice versa. In fact, after reading this I want to go grab myself a cuppa and a packet of chocolate chip cookies. Thank you. :-)

Patty, I like it. It is just a bit different than the poetry dance lays out the format. I hope you will have a wonderful evening. It is hot here and I am soon going to have to make sure my A/C is serviced. Patricia

I've just read a spaceship poem, (shaped like a spaceship saucer) so this cleverly woven, tea cup is a fairly predictable work, heh heh, so we'll done Patty, with a most articulate, appropriate theme...the teacup itself! Beautifully done, blessings, Roy

Hi Roy; thank you for stopping by to read my little tribute to the teacup. I love to experiment with the different poetic forms I come across on the site, and today, I was inspired to write about my antique teacup!

Nice personification and metaphoric usage, fantastic word knitting, expression and feeling I liked the teacup poem and enjoyed the read with solid imagery.

I like that you used a "teacup" poem to write about a teacup! And it's a gorgeous one, too! I like the personification of the teacup as a dainty young lady awaiting tea.
