All our possessions seem to represent our entire lives. A few boxes of things we acquired summarize our lives, whether we like it or not.

Moving from a place where one feels "at home" then have to pluck up and go to another place to call "home" again is a tiring process. To me the tiring is have to pack and unpack. Your poem concentrates on the packing/unpacking. Things have their memories that is how they creep into your house. You got it there when the moment was savored. But as time passes by, you realize some still has its worth while others don't and that determination to keep or not to keep give a headache. My fear for me is, as it seems to happen several times now, when I throw it away, next month, there is something would happen that had me said to myself "man, I shouldn't have thrown it away". Your thought of "our love is in a box" or some of our love is in the box. Your haibun/haiku gives a melancholy feel about making a decision of what gets to keep and what gets to let go, that determination making is easy to say but is very hard to do and the feeling is very normal just another headache to have, to me. So I hate moving, it is a wearisome process. Best wishes for your entry.

An excellent haibun according to the notes you graciously left for us to read and compare the rules to the piece. I can relate to the moving as I just have, and the lost box, maybe not for the same reason. The haiku was excellently done and I am assuming it is for romance purposes

It's not about romance, it's about life. I was thinking about my ex-husband. It has been ten years since we separated and it was hard letting him go. We both moved on but every time I move, a bit of the grief shows his ugly head again. I packed and unpacked memories. Thank you very much for reading, have a great weekend.
