Dear Patty...

Re your poem about the KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS...

The crown
meant as a joke
pressed on your Holy head
scorned you as you fulfilled His word
with death

The cruelty of the seed of Satan by his son Cain, has taken over our once tranquil loving nation....

But GOD WILL NOT BE MOCKED.. and they will cower like sniveling earthworms trying to hide from HIS WRATH AND PUNISHMENT THEY SO RIGHTLY DESERVE.

WHAT A GLORIOUS AND TRIUMPHANT DAY THAT WIL BE!

Mustang--
Hi. I guess I should expect Easter stuff. I think Christ's suffering is one the of the least effective ways to evoke his message, if you value it. I can think of, know, four, five people who are suffering more than Christ at the moment, largely cancer. To deify suffering, in my view subtracts from the very real suffering of others, greater than Christ's, in my opinion, and hinders efforts to ends such suffering. Yes, suffering contains an important message, but like pain, it is..."Get it," solve it, end it, do not celebrate it. Understand the point of it.

Thanks
Wabigoon/Jeff

Wonderful use of this short format to describe that horrible humiliation and pain in that part of the Lord's suffering. Great meditation on this Good Friday. Blessings.

Nicely done cinquain about the passion of Christ. A part of the torture Jesus went through to guarantee salvation for believers.

Happy Easter.

Keep writing

Happy Easter to you as well. Thank you for stopping by to read and review. This poem was inspired as I was reflecting on Him this morning, so I can't really take any credit,

Excellent, Patty. As you know, I am not partial to the brief poetic forms. But sometimes, they can be quite artistic, and yours is. The more one ponders it, the more one can see in it. Joke-scorned; we all endure ridicule from ignorant people. Pressed-fulfilled; we all have to "press on" until our life's work is fulfilled. Crown-death; we receive our crowns after we have died. I don't know if you intended all of this, but sometimes we are inspired to write something and we pick precisely the correct words to use.

Thank you for reading. You've honored me with your words. I did see some of the meanings when I wrote this, but you give me far too much credit. I believe this was an inspired piece - it came to me after contemplating His death this morning. I appreciate your time and words of encouragement,

It was my pleasure, Patty - we can never be sure if or when we write under an unfelt inspiration.

Dear Patty,
In my opinion, a remarkable work in its sorrowful simplicity - succinct in description and imagery and fluid in movement - fully compliant with the prompt as you described - best wishes in the contest...Eve

A thought provoking work that is very appropriate for this season of Easter.

Little did they know that the crown, the real one was his to wear with pride.

The interesting thing is Jesus said to Pilate, "You would ha no power, unless it was given you from above" John 19:11a. Jesus gave up His life. To take our punishment! Well done, a very good conquain, and timely too, well done Patty, blessings, Roy

Hi Roy; thank you so much for stopping by to read and review. I appreciate your kind words of encouragement. Pilate has been blamed for centuries - and he was another cog in the wheel. I hope you and yours have a blessed Easter,
