A lovely tribute to the agony and suffering of God's Son at the hands of his mocking enemies. Simple words painted a touching picture - matched by the artwork. We can feel the thorns pressing into his skin. Thank you for sharing.

I think the Christ will have the last laugh on Judgment Day. This is very well written with an inspirational flow of words, making for a very good read. Happy Easter.

Excellently written cinquain with the most appropriate title and subtitle. The picture of Jesus like that and your words (crown of thorns) 'pressed on your holy head' reminds me of the hymn 'He could have called 10,000 angels'--- both stir such beauty and sadness inside. Blessings, AmyJo

The crown
meant as a joke
pressed on your Holy head
scorned you as you fulfilled His word
with death
Your words are so deep and meaningful in this Cinquain - so appropriate for this Easter time. Well penned, Patty.

It's poem like these that make me feel bad for not being a regular church goer.
I love the picture of it and the background as well

Regular church goers aren't necessarily the ones that really get the meaning of His sacrifice. If you believe in your heart that He came to save us, then you have it down,

Beautiful artwork chosen for this wonderfully crafted cinquian. This is the perfect time to share this amazing sacrifice our savior Jesus went through. Heart wrenching and beautiful.
God bless!

A great poem with a powerful message.
I wonder if He would get the same treatment today if he walked amongst us in the flesh.
I suspect the ridicule and mockery would be worse.
Thank you for sharing.

Hi Michael; I suppose if He came back today - He would be mocked worse, and would probably be locked up either in jail or a mental hospital. (He wouldn't be able to migrate to the United States-and that's a shame; we need His message now more than ever.)

An excellent Cinquain Patty, that tells the story of the mocking crown of thorns and the king of kings fulfilment through death very well.
Have a lovely day
