I believe under the circumstances, you chose the best possible form to honor both and join both in a special tribute to life and death. My prayers to you and your family.

Thank you for the prayers and review. I'm glad the diamante worked well with the subject. I tried separate poems, but wanted to find a way to unite the babies who would have been good friends and cousins.

    Take care,
    Rhonda

Thank you for the beautiful six star rating, Nicole. It was a beautiful gift for two precious angels. One on earth, one in Heaven.

It was a week of extreme emotions. I celebrated with my daughter, and cried with my son. I'm a grandma, and I got to love them both.

Thank you for your comments on Simon. He is a cuddly one, and sure helped me to be able to hug him and try to forget the sorrow!

    Take care,
    Rhonda

Oh, my goodness. I am so very sorry, for your loss, the families, the parents. This is a lovely tribute to both babies. Just beautiful, blessings...

Thank you for the caring review, Irish! It was a strange week, and to be honest it took me a couple of days to process what happened. My daughter lives in Maryland, many miles away. My son lives in the next town over. I was more physically involved with Bella's death. Each birth has its own unique story, and someday maybe I can tell both, separately. Today, it was all about what united them.

    Thanks so much,
    Rhonda

Thanks, Sis, a lovely memory. Is the Diamante the shape of the poem? I learn something new everyday. I think you read my thing about Politics in my Biography. Had you seen the Introduction? I put it up again today sadly not old enough for the Revive Certificate.

The Diamante does refer to the diamond shape of the poem more than anything. It's a very specific poetic form that unites two separate objects or ideas.

Thank you for the wonderful review.

An excellent tribute to both, Rhonda--and I'm so sorry for your loss--I can't imagine--they'd both be proud to have you as their Grandmother, and if you're anything like me, it helps tremendously to write about it--not sure
why.

Mike, thank you for the six stars, my friend!! You are showing your soft side!
Thank you for the Grandmother comment. It really is important to me. It took me a few days to realize my job was equally important with both of my children that had a baby that week. My daughter was luckier, and I got to share in her joy. For my son, I held him while he cried.

    Thanks so much, Mike!

I don't "grade" responses! I'm not careful in mine. They are like text messages. haha.
reply by Mike Stevens on 12-Apr-2017
Well, I'm glad you don't grade on my spelling, but I just hate when I do something like that, it makes me look stupid--err--more stupid than usual. And you're right, it's because I'm in too much of a hurry!

You really know how to write a powerfully emotional write. I love the symmetry, the wording is perfect, good contrasts between all elements, living, breathing, dying. All written in a natural and poignant way. This one really touched my heart, and the sheer powerful emotion of a celebration of ALL elements shines through. Wow, I really enjoyed crying to this. My sincerest condolences, and congratulations on your ability to convey this in such perfection.
Blessings,
Brother Badger

Thank you so much for the wonderful review. I'm glad the emotion was able to shine through on both the happiness and sorrow. I sort of figured I would use the diamante from the beginning to join the two children, who were cousins and both loved, but it was hard to do without focusing on one more than the other. Thank you for your detailed review. It was really helpful!!

BTW, I cried while I wrote it. haha. We're softies!

Wow, that would have sounded good in the poem! It does help me understand why I wanted to write their baby poems together.
