Hello Linda, thank you for these six stars and your excellent review and comments! Sometimes, I wonder where all this comes from. I've always have had a romantic heart even though I have been alone for twelve years. But, only one time have I ever been in love and I know it's not too late to experience this. Hi Jim, I know what you are saying my sweet friend...I know I can't bring my husband back...but wish I could...we had our moments...but we did love each other...the sad thing about love today Jim...is that it is all self...so many want to take...and not give...I thank God I am a giver...and in my heart feel you are too...you are always soooo welcome Jim....and you take care as well...have a great day too...it is cold here...again...xxoo love

A lot of sentiments in this poem, on how the narrator perceives and feels about love and the relationship with the one he/she loves.
Small thing here:
"Our hearts, the organ of life"
I think either heart needs to be singular, or organ plural, for consistency?
These lines sound like something's missing:
"which makes sunny days to give us happiness
or that cloudy, rainy day has us feeling sad."
Is it meant to be "for that cloudy, rainy day, that has us feeling sad"?

I don't know what I'd do without my husband. When it felt like my world was crashing down around me a couple weeks ago he came in and made it all better. I often wonder how I got through life before him. True love is a thing that should never be taken for granted.

I liken it to forest faeries; they simply do not exist.

The love of God, your country, and your dog.

My wife of twenty-two years and I were not able to overcome the trials and tribulations of life.
And that is simply cold, harsh reality, my friend.

Well Dean, I rarely disagree with you, BUT, I am now! I know many people that have overcome trials and tribulations and are still very much in love. They trust and respect one another. Listen I was married twice, but was never in love with either. I stayed with my first wife because of my two children and walked when my son became self sufficient. The second time, I still don't know why I did it. I became bored almost immediately. So even though I'm alone by choice, I still believe in love and what it can produce for people my friend,,,,,,,,Jim
