Great photo but unnecessary- as it should be. I enjoyed the two and love the personification or anthropomorphism of the flowers. I have heard it said that is supposed to be taboo in true Haiku, but I prefer what Ken Durkee writes:
"the best haiku are not snapshots, not metaphors, not bridges between the disembodied mind of the poet's language and the untouchable putridness of the natural world--the best haiku are deeply embedded participations. . . Rather than personification, I would say identification-with: the idea of becoming-one-with.
You have done that so well here. Bravo to you.

Thank you Wendy, for your kind comments and review , I do appreciate it. It is taboo of true personification, as if I use a true human form. It is not taboo as the flower itself rests in the shade. The swaddled baby is the name of the flower, if this is the one you refer too. If you still are uncertain you can go to the HSA.org to verify with some of the greatest masters, dating back to the 17th century. Thanks again Wendy. I you have any questions, please feel free to ask me. ~Kerry

Beautiful!! I love that you picked pink as the background color. I love orchids they are my favorite flower. Love that they have all kinds and all different shapes. Did you ever see the one that looks like a monkey? I think there is one named after a man's you know, but that may be another flower.
Okay, TC :)

lol, I did see the Monkey, they also call a Dracula something, because of the face and it could be 2 fangs, I love Orchids myself, never saw the swaddled baby. I love Blue Orchids, they are stunning. Thanks for the review Rasmine.

Sometimes there's just nothing more amazing than nature itself. These orchid flowers really do look like a swaddled baby ... incredible! Must be baby girls ... they're swaddled in pink. lol
Have you ever seen the Hot Lips plant? It looks exactly like a pair of lips.
This is an excellent Haiku. I especially like the line "perched on sticks".

Exceptionally presented! The Swaddled Baby Flowers are an awesome gift from God. "Birds of Paradise," You bet! The Authors message is, "Gentle, Kind and
touches one's heart." It's crystal clear, "Pink is Kerry's color." Thank you, my dear friend, for sharing this commendable post with us at FanStory. And thank you as
well, for contributing to Haiku Society of America. Best wishes and God bless.
