Excellent use of metaphor and personification. So many poems here lack that. Your imagery is spot-on..."word music". I love it! I love the whole thing. Kudos to you!

Comment from Dean Kuch
Does the sight of birth inspire the poet, or has the poet birthed a new poem after having been inspired?
Food for thought, but I would tend to lean towards both scenarios myself.
Inspiration can be gleaned from the most unlikeliest of places such as antediluvian cemeteries, or musky catacombs beneath the vaunted streets of Rome.
And, probably most inspiring of all, the delivery room of a hospital's maternity ward.
Bravo, Vance; very well done.

This is the first time I have had the privilege of reviewing one of your works.
An absolutely wonderful poem that follows the process from the tiniest seed on an idea to the birth of the finished product.
It is obvious reading this that you have a genuine love of words and creating masterpieces with them
love and hugs
Freda, Podge and Rodge.

Comment from Janet Foor
Truly, the mind demands a poem. A clever and creative poem to capture the birth of thought as it captures the poet.
Very nicely done.
Blessings

This poem uses biology and birth terms as metaphors for writing process from idea to finished product. It also gives the reason why we write.

I love this poem! I can easily relate to the "pangs of birth" as a new poem comes into the world. What a beautiful way you have described this process. I especially loved this stanza... because a beautifully created poem is truly "word music."
"The impatient tapping
Of the Conductor's Baton
Demands response to the call
For word music
But... the whole poem is amazing and I loved every word of it. Thanks for making my day!

I'm just about speechless, His Grayness.
You caught it all superbly. I've been here for almost 2 months but I think this one deserves my very first six.
I feel like this is a tribute to writers.

This tells about state of mind, love of words and creation and mentions subtly how the process of creation of thoughts manifests and gives birth of poems or songs painted in words I can relate to; this is an exceptional work on graphical portrayal (visual imagery) of the worlds where poets create poems. 6-star
