Yes, each idea is 'birthed' from the mind of the writer. The germinated seed grows until it is a full-fledged thought. It flows from the pen, and gives the world something new to marvel over. Thank you for sharing this well penned poem,
~patty~

Hello Vance,
what a wonderful way you described how a poet conceives thoughts and gives birth to a poem
of how perfect you wrote--

First, there is the Hum
Announcing the pregnancy
Preparing the midwife of words
For the birth

Neat personification of Hum for muse/inspiration. The birth of thought and ideas, the hum of meter, ink blood, scribbled gift - all great imagery!

A wonderful writing with what I detect to contain many levels and layers of meaning. I loved the tapping of the conducter's baton, it set a lively pace for this enjoyable read. I also liked how you stated "newly injected soul". You have woven wonderful concepts together here, great job.
Blessings,
Brother Badger

His Grayness,

Well chosen words are excellent. The theme is strong. Your feelings are expressed well. Your arrangement looks very nice. The flow is smooth. Very descriptive.
Very well reflected thoughts and opinions, expressiveness is working well.

There was no SPAG. No typos. No homophones. No problems at all.

You wrote this one very well.

I look forward to seeing you again.

Love you,

Oatmeal

This is a magnificent poem, Vance, and I do wish I had for it the six it so richly deserves. What a wonderful pair of extended metaphors, giving birth to the new poem and then likening the result to music. You have here both the excitement of creation and something of the poet's diffidence in offering up this part of himself to the glare of a wider audience.

Thanks Tony for the wonderful and uplifting review and virtual sixes (as many I've had to bring to you with bowed head as well) so no problem as I really appreciate your insights and always helpful feedback. I've spent much of my life writing music with the joy of sharing the emotions thereby and so the blending with writing poetry seemed perfectly natural and I'm hopeful this work will be helpful to many writers as well. It is always a genuine delight to share your brilliant thoughts and I really appreciate your feedback. All the best, dear friend! Vance

Out of sixes Mr. Vance...sorry! Isn't this the truth though?? Every time I'm writing, I get SO entrenched in it, then, as though it were a newborn...I am fascinated with it for days afterword. Like, 'Whoa! I made this!!!' Great poem, blessings...

Sincere thanks for this wonderful message and I'm honored and delighted that this work related well to your works in poetry and writing in general. I really enjoyed writing it and as a musician and composer, the blending of creations of word and music made complete synchronicity with me. Glad you enjoyed it! Best wishes and thanks! Vance

Oh Vance, what a beautiful extended metaphor. I connect with the Hum and the mating of thought and passion. Skillful references to music and art. Best of all, the line about some form of love. This deserves Poem of the Month, my friend.

Hugs,
Shari

Dear Vance...

First of all, your title, "The Hum," captured my attention and I was so anxious to read what you had to say about it ~ but first, I will tell you how it effected me....

It reminded me of God's Omnipotent Sound Current -- that is faster than the speed of Light and high octave Vibrational force of the Universe ~ and the the only way one could hear it with the inner ear that is attuned to it, otherwise the person in a physical body would explode from the slighest sound it... And now to my review of your truly revolutionary understanding of the "Hum," as you effectively refer to it.

I particularly resonated with the stanza...

"The impatient tapping
Of the Conductor's Baton
Demands response to the call
For word music"

I liked it since everything is manifest to the sound of music ~ or, I like to refer to it as "Music of the spheres."

I was also intrigued with your line. "Fear and Will"

The word "Fear" really got to within the core of me -- since the Bible says there is nothing to fear but fear itself-- and yet -- I fear the pain of the physical body since no amount or kind of medication has any effect on me... Such as now -- I have been patiently waiting to review your poem... and now while my back still hurts.... I am persisting...

I wish I understood this ~ and then perhaps the fear would vanish....

It is an exceptional poem of Truth expressed as a "HUM," so aptly expressed in your choice of words to bring forth this vital message to the masses of people who are not aware of the significance of it.

Thank you for sharing it... and I will go back now and read it again in the event I missed something.

Nan:))

Wow, Nan, how wonderful to hear from you and share your lovely thoughts. Yes, we see "births" of many things in our lives and I certainly remember quite often finding myself Hmmmm'ing a guttural consonance at times of deep thought and curiosity so it became a logical undertaking to acknowledge and celebrate it with a poem of reflection. I'm so glad you enjoyed it and I do hop you find some comfort and relief soon. Blessings always! Vance with deep gratitude for your lovely review.

Dear Vance... I do hope you got the
    correct version of my review....

I understand what you are saying and have experienced similar feelings you described.... LIfe is a joy when one experiences this and makes life even a greater joy while we are clothed with the temporary body of flesh.

I often refer to your "gratitude" poems when I review a post that I believe warrants it.

    Blessings galore....Nan:))
