Hi Patty, I love your tribute to your dogs and the final line took me a little while to realize that it refers to how you feel when your dogs are around you. The title helped me figure it out. The poem even looks like a lanturn and has an upbeat theme. Lovely write.

I like your poem. It is true that dogs are amazing. They are loyal and true. I like the word safe because dogs are safe. But not sure if another word would work better for overall flow. Look forward to reading more of your work!

This lanturne, Right by My Side, has a great message about pet dogs. They certainly are all those things. Dogs are also useful for many jobs as they are smart and trustworthy.

This is a sweet lantern poem about man's best friend, (Sorry, I had to say that:). How lucky you are to have cuddly friends to play with and watch! I appreciate your solid form in this poem as each line works by itself or together as a whole...well done.
Seems like this would have been a great entry into the lantern contest which ends tonight...of course, perhaps you have already entered another piece.

Yes, dogs can really be "man's best friends" as long as they are treated well. There are so many stories about a dog's loyalty and they do keep the house safe.

Pic is still blurry - but it is much better - looks more like a soulful look in his/her eyes, rather than a space alien look. lol.
